What is Chiropractic?

evolveChiropractic is an area of health care which primarily focuses on the physical aspects of health. This includes assessing posture, muscle tension and function, reduced mobility, spinal pain, as well as many other causes of reduced physical health. It is a safe, non-invasive, totally natural health service focussed on returning you to maximum mobility and maintaining your postural and physical health. Soft tissue work is comprised in the treatment in order to maximise results.

Chiropractic can also be helpful in the treatment of colic and sleep problems in babies, asthma, bed wetting and study problems in children and fibromyalgia, arthritis and sciatica in adults.

How Does it Work?chiropracticspine

A loss of normal motion of bones in the spinal

column can interfere with nerve function.

Initially we take a thorough case history to review important aspects of your health followed by an extensive examination of your spine to identify any problems. A loss of normal motion of one or more of the 24 moving bones in the spinal column can interfere with nerve function. This interference is referred to as a SUBLUXATION, a term worth remembering as you will here a lot more about it! Your Chiropractor will recommend a program of SPINAL ADJUSTMENTS, (another term you will here frequently), to relieve and correct your subluxations. Once the critical problem and associated pain has subsided, a course of ongoing preventative and maintenance treatments are recommended.

How Can Chiropractic Fix My Problem?

Acknowledging that you need to have your spine checked is the first step to a healthy spine! Here is how Chiropractic works......

Your Chiropractor’s primary focus will be to locate your subluxations, correct them and help you to prevent them from recurring.

Each step will be explained thoroughly before it is taken so that you understand what is happening in your treatment and why. You may feel some discomfort after initial treatments or you may respond very quickly. Each patient is different. However if you take responsibility for your treatment, keep your appointments and follow the exercises and other recommendations for between-treatment care, you, like millions of others, can look forward to a healthier life.
